Rumors about the possibility of operating 22 nm processors generation ivy bridge in intel sixth series motherboards are already available, but concrete information from the processors producer , until now, did not come.
Thus, this document declares about the compatibility of 22 nm processors ivy bridge LGA 1155 with the motherboard on base of chipset cougar point. Accordingly, motherboard on base of newer chipset generation panther point will ensure the support of 32 nm processors series sandy bridge.
Compatibility with the processors ivy bridge is guaranteed after Bios update, moreover products on base of chipset intel q65, Q67 and B65 from the list of supporting new processors platforms are excluded.
The new platform maho bay, which will appear in first half of 2012, will ensure increase in the speed to 20% on the processor part and 30% on the graphic part. It will support directX 11, further development of the technology quick sync (transcoding video) and Turbo boost (dynamic acceleration of processor), it will more effectively work with AVX expansions. The processor memory controller will ensure support to dual-channel DDR 3-1600. The processors ivy bridge will have a TDP level from 35 to 95 W, they will preserve the design concept LGA 1155. Chipset panther point will ensure the support of four ports USB 3.0 and the possibility of simultaneous work with three displays. Related Products :
