The video card series Radeon HD 79xx will support not only PCI Express 3.0 but also DirectX 11.1.  About the overclocking of Radeon HD 7970 we already reported - to achieve a core frequency of 1 GHz is almost guaranteed without special tricks. Since the video card will include two BIOS chip , manufacturers will be able to prescribe higher frequency in one of these chips. Further dynamic overclock up to 1 GHz will be implemented by the driver - this will be an analogue of Turbo Core technology for the graphic processor. Radeon HD 7970 Cooling System was improved. The fan is wider and has a new form of blade, providing improved performance with no significant change in noise levels. Evaporation chamber at the base of the cooler was also optimized. With only four outputs on the rear panel (DVI, HDMI and two mini-DisplayPort), the Radeon HD 7970 supports five monitors. Each unit now has its own audio channel, which allows part of Eyefinity to combine two classes, implying their sound - for example, to play one group of monitors and view a movie on another. At rest, the video card fan completely off, it consumes no more than 3 Watts. In CrossFire fan works only on one card. In the test 3DMark'11 the Radeon HD 7970 is 15% faster than GeForce GTX 580. In the gaming benchmarks Radeon HD 7970 is only slightly faster than Radeon HD 6970 . Related Products : | ||
