Globalfoundries has released 250,000 silicon wafers using 32nm process technology

In the early development stages of 32 nm technology Globalfoundries had a less satisfactory values, and only recently an agreement with AMD, concerning the payment terms of silicon wafers has been revised on more favorable conditions for Globalfoundries.  AMD representatives in this state are confident in the ability of Globalfoundries to ensure stable product quality, and therefore the agreement was revised. Globalfoundries reported that over the five quarters the company managed to produce 32 nm technology twice more wafer than at the corresponding development stages of 45nm technology. The company managed to expand production capacity in Dresden vicinity  , now in one month it can produce up to 80,000 wafers.  More than 50% of production at Fab 1 is associated with the use of materials with high dielectric constants, and transistors with metal gate (HKMG).  Globalfoundries hope that the use of HKMG during the transition to 28 nm technology will complete the migration quickly and painlessly. Globalfoundries is ready to take orders for 28-nm products to AMD customers  , although the latter reserves the right to use the services of other contractors as part of this technology process . Assocaite simultaneously reported that Globalfoundries representatives are convinced in the superiority of their technology version over comparable Intel solution  .  If the processor giant began to use transistors with a three-dimensional structure, even within the 22 nm technology, Globalfoundries and partners will do so only within the 14 nm process technology, which they will learn to the 2014-2015 year.
