Research agency Gartner issued a new forecast, according to which the popularity of tablet devices running Windows 8 will be very limited. So, this year they will be able to take only 4.1% of the market, whose capacity is estimated by experts in the 118.9 million tablets. By 2016 the situation will improve only slightly - Tablet running Windows will be satisfied with 11.8% of the market.
This year's dominant position will keep Apple iOS (61,4%), the share of Android-devices will account for 31.9%. The limited popularity of Windows 8 explains the orientation of platform for business users, while the tablet would be perceived as a consumer device. Corporate users will buy in 2015 up to 35% of tablets, but a considerable part of the devices used for business purposes, will be owned by employees. Accordingly, the operating system on these tablets will be often different from Windows.
By 2016, Android will come close in popularity to iOS, but the latter will still dominate the tablet segment . The problem with Android, according to Gartner, is the lack of applications built specifically for tablets, not smartphones. Related Products :
