Yesterday we wrote that AMD will release the Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition as a kind of answer to the graphics accelerator NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680.
The samples of Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition will be based on GPU Tahiti, TSMC produced in factories on a more mature 28-nm technology. It will reduce the GPU supply voltage , reducing leakage currents and, consequently, increase the frequency potential of the processor. In particular, mentioned the possibility of such GPU to operate at a frequency of 1250 MHz.
Thus, the base frequency of the processor Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition will be 1050 MHz.
