The Video card radeon HD 2900 XT with GDDR-4 memory does not lead in higher energy consumption level . On the contrary, video card with this memory type consumes less electric power than the version radeon HD 2900 XT with GDDR- 3 memory and doubly smaller volume. AMD has also video card radeon HD 2600 XT with GDDR-4 memory . According to the same idea, it must possess lower energy consumption in comparison with the version radeon HD 2600 XT with GDDR- E 3 memory . But here the great surprise, that the video card radeon HD 2600 XT with GDDR-4 memory barely loses in the energy consumption level at the idle regime .  It was explained lately that Radeon HD 2600 XT GDDR-4 does not reduce its frequency with transfer from the three-dimensional to the two-dimensional regime. Even without load , this video card operates at 800/2200 MHz frequencies . So the high memory frequency does not show the efficiency of GDDR-4 . Let us note that the version radeon HD 2600 XT with GDDR- E3 memory reduces its core and memory frequencies after the transfer in the two-dimensional regime .
