This week, Intel introduced the successor to processors Ivy Bridge Gladden (Crystal Forest), announced last year and focused on the use in communications equipment. New solutions appearing in the composition platform Glen Forest, based on core Haswell-MB (Haswell Mobile Comms) and can be identified by the suffix EC.
Processors have higher performance compared to Ivy Bridge Gladden, however, they claimed higher TDP. The range of Glen Forest presented three processors models : Core i5-4402EC, Core i7-4700EC and Core i7-4702EC. The first offers two processing cores, 4 MB cache in the third level, the other two include four cores and 8MB of L3 cache. TDP level models of Core i5-4402EC and Core i7-4702EC is 27 W for Core i7-4700EC stated 43 watts.
All processors have dual-channel RAM DDR3L-1600 supports Hyper-Threading technology and interface PCI Express 3.0; iGPU in these decisions is not provided. Decisions will be interfaced with the chipset Cave Creek, which can offer support QuickAssist, four Gigabit Ethernet ports and four lines of PCI Express 1.0.
