Dependence on modern wearable wrist computers from a paired smartphone and charger oppresses many manufacturers. For example, Intel company dreams of self-contained devices that can be worn on the hand, and its director of creative innovation is already showing a prototype of a similar device, created in a separate company he founded.
We have already heard that Samsung is going to release its kind smart clock with a separate SIM-card. Such a device, according to the creators, will allow for voice calls and access to the global network resources without the need to be interfaced wirelessly with smartphone. Korean edition Korea Herald reports that Samsung has registered the trademark Gear Solo, and intends to use it to refer to worn on the wrist computer, which will be equipped with a connector for SIM-card. Device will be released on the Korean market, in collaboration with local carrier SK Telecom. The product may go out and under a different name, the final decision on this matter is still pending.
