In Autumn Intel will present new server processors and RAM DDR4. The new standard, however, is unlikely to outshine its predecessor at first, so the main memory will still remain DDR3. Micron announced the world's first monolithic chip density DDR3 8Gb.
According to a press release, the monolithic chip will reduce the cost of high-capacity memory modules used in large-scale systems that handle large amounts of data. As possible applications Micron calls social networks, search engines, as well as calculations performed directly in memory.
Single-chip devices have topological rules 25 nm. Micron memory modules are already preparing, based on new monolithic chips. In particular, it will be released registered memory module (RDIMM) with 32 GB. Also this memory will appear in SeaMicro SM15000 servers, AMD. Related Products :
