This week NVIDIA announced the GeForce 8800 GT graphics card based on 65 nm chip G92 witch surpasses GeForce 8800 GTS 640 MB in performance . To correct this situation, NVIDIA released an enhanced version GeForce 8800 GTS 640 MB on base of the old chip G80 with increased to 112 units stream processors.

However, this is far from being last news from NVIDIA this year in the large family GeForce 8xxx. It is known that G92 chip may open all 128 stream processor, and provide a new product to replace the GeForce 8800 GTS. With reference to NVIDIA documentation , the announcement of the updated GeForce 8800 GTS on base of 65 nm G92 chip is scheduled for December. The basic characteristics of such card are already known : it is 128 stream processors, as well as 512 or 1024 MB GDDR-3 . in addition to the 256-bit system Bus, which will be the main difference between the old and new GeForce 8800 GTS.

The core frequency should be higher than GeForce 8800 GT. It is expected that the new GeForce 8800 GTS will be able to show a performance level close to the GeForce 8800 GTX.
