Apple has continued to improve fingerprint Touch ID, which first appeared in 2013 in the iPhone 5s and prescribe all new Apple mobile devices in 2014. This is indicated by a new patent that issued by our colleagues from AppleInsider.
The new patent application was filed in the United States Patent and Trademark Office in June 2013. As one of the authors of the patent indicates Dale R. Setlak , which is a co-founder of AuthenTec, which was acquired by Apple in 2012.
The patent describes a technique interaction fingerprint scanner Touch ID with the user interface. It is noted that in the future it will be able to not only recognize fingerprints, but also to respond to the various movements of the fingers. For example, the user can set as "key" a certain set of circular motion in both the left and the right side. This technology will be used in the future fingerprint sensor for quick access to certain functions and perform various tasks, for example, to call a particular contact or quick lock screen.
