AnandTech published photos of six more drives Samsung, shown at the stand of the South Korean developer and manufacturer.
All samples demonstrated focus on corporate customer.
Drives PM863 and SM863 are made in the form factor 2.5 "SATA3 interface and equipped with a capacity of 6 Gb / s. At the heart of PM863 is a new 32-layer TLC 3D V-NAND (crystal density of 128 Gb), the volume will reach a value of 3.84 TB. Speed characteristics reach 530 MB / s and 450 MB / s for random to read and write operations. IOPS Performance on operations with random 4KB blocks at the same time reached 95 and 15 million respectively. The warranty period is set at 3 years.
SM863 is a higher class: 32-layer 3D V-NAND, but with lower density MLC 86 Gbps. Volumes are also modest: only up to 1.92 TB. Speed characteristics are a little higher: 530 and 480 MB / s, 95000 and 20000 IOPS. At the same time, and a longer five-year warranty.
Three more SSDs - SM1635, SM1637 and PM1633 - also used 3D V-NAND. But the first two - MLC, and the third - TLC. Heart of all three is the new controller Samsung, code-name REX.
Samsung SM953 made in the form M.2 interface and is equipped with PCI-Express. However, unfortunately, the performance level is lower than that of the retail SM951, in particular, on reading promised to 1750 MB / sec, and writing - 750 MByte / s, suggesting the use of four lines of PCI-Express 2.0. But there is a chain of capacitors, ensuring data integrity in the event of an unexpected power outage.
