We know that this month will be presented the Celeron E1200 (1.6 GHz) model witch cost $53. Intel also release the engineering models Celeron E1600 (2.4 GHz). Can dual core processors Celeron finally remove their single core predecessors this year?
The following dual core model Celeron E1400 (2.0 GHz) will be released in the second quarter , it will replace the processor Celeron E1200 (1.6 GHz), and it will cost the same $53. Frequency increase in this case is by 400 MHz, and price will remain the same .
Intel will not completely reject the deliveries of single core processors Celeron 4xx up to the second quarter 2009. The prime cost of dual core processors, produced on 65 nm technology, is too high for their advance in the lower segment part . It is even more advantageous to sell single core processors. In this block the fraction of dual core processors Celeron E1xxx will not exceed 3%, in the second half-year this index will grow to 10%.
