POSTER:computer news || HOW WINDOWS HAS EVOLVED ON NETBOOK
DATE:2015-11-11
Presented in this article video shows the process of updating Windows operating system version 1.0, which was introduced back in 1983, before the system Windows 8.1 Preview, 2013 release. As the hardware platform used netbook Asus EEE PC 1005HA.
Updates take place in the following order:
Windows 1.01
Windows 2.03
Windows 3.0
Windows 3.1
Windows 95,
Windows 98
Windows Me
Windows XP
Windows Vista
Windows 7,
Windows 8.1 Preview
The author of the video points out that Windows 2.03, had to delete some files. This was done due to the fact that these files can prevent the installation of Windows 3.0 and Windows 3.1. In Windows 3.1, it has been renamed the WIN.COM file to install Windows 95B. It was a version of 95B (OEM Service Release 2) instead of the usual Windows 95 because the 95B supports the file system FAT32, while the normal Windows 95 does not. If there was a common set of 95, one would have to use the file system FAT16, which has a limit on the amount of volume to 2 GB, so from the beginning the system was used FAT32. In Windows XP I had to change the file system to NTFS, in order to be able to install Windows Vista. The author has also increased the amount of video RAM from 256 MB to 2 GB. This was necessary due to the fact that older versions of Windows, such as 95, 98 and Me, have a limit on the amount of RAM, while the newer versions of Windows require a larger amount of RAM.
