Apple's next few years are unlikely to switch to AMOLED-display for the iPhone, at least until 2018 or 2019. This was reported by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo (Ming-Chi Kuo) of KGI Securities, which refers to the publication AppleInsider.
Ming-Chi Kuo has denied recent rumors that the iPhone's 7 is installed AMOLED-display. In his view, this is unlikely, because Apple continues to invest in advanced technology LCD. In addition, Foxconn company, which is the main industrial Apple partner , has signed a contract with the Government of Henan Province in China on construction in Zhengzhou production lines for the production of display panels LTPS TFT-LCD of the sixth generation. The plant will be commissioned in 2018, and Foxconn, according to the analyst, has invested a large sum in its construction in order to obtain orders for the production of LCD-displays for future iPhone.
The leadership of the Japanese Minebea provider believes that the demand for LCD-displays for flagship smartphones will remain high, at least in the next three years. LCD-displays have a number of advantages over OLED-screens, including lower production costs and better visibility in bright sunlight. At the same time, OLED-panel, known for its bright vivid colors and low power consumption, and for this reason, Apple chose OLED for Apple Watch. Related Products :
