While some manufacturers protect their smartphones out of dust and moisture, Apple has patented new invention, allowing to dry iPhone with a built-in electrodes.
According to AppleInsider, Apple has filed with the Office of the US patent and trademark registration patent application titled "Removing water from holes." As described method for removing fluid from process vents mobile devices by means of electrical discharges. Apple offers endow hydrophobic elements of the speakers and microphones carried out by changing the electrical discharge. Currently, they are protected by a fine mesh to prevent foreign objects, but it does not protect the device from moisture and condensation. To detect water company intends to use the sensors located within the acoustic module. In the case of moisture to the conductive elements will be applied discharge. The patent notes that all conducting elements are covered with a protective layer of a dielectric material.
