Many attempts to obtain speed boost from PCI express system bus overclock, and only NVIDIA company released the relative technology : linkBoost, which allow to automatically overclock the system bus PCI express using NVIDIA chipsets and video card . Later NVIDIA reexamined the technology linkBoost : real speed increase from PCI express overclock proved to be small.
With the Release of video card geForce 9600 GT the situation can change .

NVIDIA representatives continue to assert that the frequency of video card geForce 9600 GT use 25 MHz frequency generator , but here physically on the printed-circuit board (PCB) it is possible to reveal a clock generator with 27 MHz frequency . Experiments show that with increase in the PCI express system bus frequency the card get a proportionally grows in real operating video chip frequency .

We come to the conclusion that in case of GeForce 9600 GT the video chip frequency depends on PCI express bus frequency .
