We already posted the benchmark result of the GeForce 9800 GTX in 3DMark'06 coupled with the four core processor core 2 Extreme QX9650 (3.0 GHz), At default frequencies 675/1688/2200 MHz is reached 14 014 points. The overclock of processor to 4.0 GHz with constant video card frequencies allowed to collect 14 725 points. Finally, paired with processor core 2 Quad q6700 (2.66 GHz) the result was equal to 13 167 points. All those result are attainable with the overclocked GeForce 8800 GTS 512 mb.
From other side, the GeForce 9800 GTX has intensive power system and 0.8 ns GDDR3 memory and also an imposing cooler . As this will influences the overclocking potential of this video card. The video chip voltage varies from 1.2-1.21 v in rest state , and to 1.26-1.27 v under load. Memory voltage is equal to 2.0 v. The powerful cooler is completely able to compensate the voltage increase by 0.02 v in comparison with GeForce 8800 GTS 512 mb. At air temperature 18 degree Celsius , the video chip rest state heat up to 35 degree Celsius, and to 53 degree Celsius under load. Fan in this case works at full speed.

Video card was overclocked without any modifications to 850/2160/2376 MHz frequencies. Using Dual core processor xeon e3110 overclocked to 4.0 GHz, forceWare 174.20 drivers associate got the following results :

3DMark'03 - > 36 956 points;
3DMark'05 - > 25 502 points;

3DMark'06 - > 16 444 points.
