The announcement of two-chip video card geForce 9800 GX2, which took place yesterday, was well prepared. We already studied all characteristics and special features   . From, the first official geForce 9800 GX2 review this video card can be considered as the fastest . Tests showed that GeForce 9800 GX2 in the majority of cases is better than Radeon HD 3870 X2 . The characteristics Of geForce 9800 GX2 in standard version are already known: The Video card is equipped with 2 X 512 mb GDDR- 3 memory from samsung production  with the access time 1.0 ns. The voltmode for this video card was already published : Geforce 9800 GX2 V-GPU voltmode : Measurement point Measurement point 100OHM : to raise Vgpu. Geforce 9800 GX2 V-memory voltmode : Measurement point 25kOHM :  to raise Vmem. The Video card geForce 9800 GX2 becomes the first NVIDIA product with support to hybrid power technology  . Using motherboard on base of integrated chipset NVIDIA, it is possible to disconnected this video card at low load moments  . This allow to economize electric power. Under load the energy consumption level is adequate to the speed level  - it is several watts higher than Radeon HD 3870 X2. Standard video card propose support to the maximum of three monitors: two with DVI ports and one with  HDMI port. The GeForce 9800 GX2 support simultaneous work with all three. One DVI ports is considered as primary. The second DVI port  begun to operate only from Windows, moreover SLI regime must be enabled. The additional power, combine six and 8 pin connector . If we connect two six-pin connector the red light indicator signals power  problems . The owners of non corresponding power units are forced to use adapters. Power unit must ensure 12 A on each 12 v line in order to work with GeForce 9800 GX2 . Power units requirement are : 580 W for single video card and 850 W for two video cards ( quad SLI ). The energy consumption level of geForce 9800 GX2 is evaluated at  197 W; . The geForce 9800 GX2 overclock very well  . Cooling system is successful in both condition (default rating and overclocked ), and in this case it is not noisy. The overclock of geforce 9800GX2 is similar to GeForce 9600 GT,  core frequency depends on system bus PCI express frequency. Standard video card demonstrate the ability to increase the core frequency from 600 to 740-750 MHz, the shader domain frequency from 1500 to 1850-1900 MHz, and memory is overclocked from 2000 to 2200-2250 MHz DDR without any additional modifications. IN USA the video card geForce 9800 GX2 is already proposed for $599. All NVIDIA partners are limited to release standard video card with standard frequencies 600/1500/2000 MHz.
