Speaking at an industry conference this week, AMD technical director Mark Papermaster quite ironically answered the question of returning to the competition market after the recent announcements of new products of this brand.  According to him, competition is always good, and if it were not, then we would not now discuss consumer-grade processors with 18 cores.  Here, Mark was clearly hinting at the flagship Intel Skylake-X costing $ 1999, about the characteristics of which almost nothing is known.  AMD technical director noted that the debut of such a processor was clearly preparing in a hurry, and before you draw any conclusions, you need to wait for the results of the comparative testing.  But in its Threadripper processors, which will be limited to the availability of 16 cores, AMD is sure of everything one hundred percent.
