As we already reported the Geforce 9600 GSO is the renamed Geforce 8800 GS , It exist in two versions with 384MB and 786 MB. In both cases the memory system bus and stream processor are limited .

Associate today revealed that the Galaxy 9600GSO OverClocked edition can be softmodded . This card includes 8 memory chip instead of 6 like normal Geforce 9600 GSO (8800gs) .

Here is the 9600 GSO before the mod :

192Bit , 96 stream processor and 384 MB memory .

Here is the 9600 GSO after the mod :

256Bit , 128 stream processor and 512 MB memory . AND a Full 8800 GTS :-)

In this case u require a bios mod in order to unlock the card.

Let us see check the benchmark results :

Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E6700 (266x10) || Motherboard: Spark BI-100 P35 || Memory: Apogee 2x1GB DDR2-800 @ 4-4-4-12 2T

Graphics (core/shader/memory): Galaxy 9600GSO OverClocked edition (600/1500/2000) || GeForce 8800GTS 512MB (650/1625/1944)

Operating System : Windows Vista Ultimate

Driver: Forceware 175.16 beta

Now let us compare this card with a true 8800 GTS:

First we overclock the 9600GSO in order to match the 8800 GTS frequencies .

I\'ve got a Gygabyte 9600 gso 384 mbwith zalman cooling.can someone help me out with a mod to this card.i can\'t find anything about this in any other place. thx (bulbazar5_2k@yahoo.com)

IT IS NOT TRUE you never even saw GiGaByte card, I modded mine Gigabyte 9600 gso since it has 512 onboard and only 384 activaTED LEONID LEONID@NAISSUS.COM
