We already reported that the two-chip video card RV770 will exist in the GDDR-3 version . AMD partners are intended to independently develop the design of similar cards. Today appeared a unique interview with AMD representatives ,  which acknowledge the intentions to announce Radeon HD 4870 X2 in August. To this information was added the presence of two different video cards versions , proposed with different price. According to AMD, in the company laboratories there is a system on base of four video cards radeon HD 4870 X2,  witch unites eight video chips.  Currently there is no similar drivers . However, it is not possible to exclude the appearance of similar solutions in the future. According to AMD : the application of  PCI express x16 slots with the capacity PCI Express x8 in contemporary games does not damage the speed. Drivers are simply optimized in such way to avoid the active exchange of data between video chip. Related Products :

RADEON HD 4870 X2 IN TWO VERSIONS

In regard to the two versions of Ati Radeon HD 4870 X2 I found a bug in the Club 3D page that allowed me to get some information about the upcoming high-end graphics card. The two versions we\'re going to see (at least on C3D) are: HD 4870 X2 2048MB GDDR5 Dual GPU HD 4870 X2 1024MB GDDR5 Dual GPU I surely hope that the 2GB version is going to retail on the rumored 499$ -JMH (Of course there are few of you who don\'t believe me so here\'s how I got the info: Go to search -> select search by product code -> write in: 4870 X2 -> press search ... now you should have it.. There\'s also a link to club3d sites with more info about these models but they\'re redirecting you to the Club3D main page when you try to connect to the link\'s URL)
