Official AMD representatives mention about the compagny intentions to present the R700 video card in August.. Today the first brief r700 review appeared . Since many characteristics of this two-chip product are already known, associates were concentrated on testing this card. The tested video card is actually equipped with 2 X 1 Gb GDDR5 memory .In the opinion of our assocaite, precisely, this quality allow this card to be faster that two single Radeon HD 4870 with 512 mb GDDR 5 memory in heavy graphic regimes.

This conclusion is completely regular, but AMD also tried to optimize the data exchange between videochips at the hardware level . Frequencies remained as before - 750/3600 MHz. . For some reasons the screen shot show only 900/4000 MHz as the overclocked speed while assocaite report the frequencies 915/3720 MHz. This modest result was achieved with the use of automatic overclock function , and higher frequencies are achieved in the manual regime. Besides Crysis game , radeon HD 4870 X2 is faster than GeForce GTX 280 in all gaming tests examined. Later appeared another brief revirew Of radeon HD 4870 X2 with 2 X 512 mb GDDR5 memory . We couls say that this two-chip card in many tests was also faster that two single Radeon HD 4870 with the identical memory volume and analogous frequencies. Note, sometimes Radeon HD 4870 X2 occurs faster than two video cards geForce GTX 280, which work in the SLI regime .
