PowerColor company decided to enlarge the video cards on base of RV770 chip with its own design. The series PCS and PCS+ obtained a memory capacity from 512mb to 2Gb, the high frequencies and cooling system from zeroTherm production . As shows test, to improve the video card overclocking capability the radeon HD 4850 stock cooling system has to be replaced , and PowerColor proposes already finished product with the alternative coolers . Yesterday powerColor company officially released the video card radeon HD 4850 series PCS, equipped with 512 mb., 1Gb and 2Gb GDDR3 memory . The most interesting card undoubtedly became the radeon HD 4850 version with 2Gb memory. All three video cards have zeroTherm cooler and 665 MHz core frequency (against 625 MHz in standard video cards). This cooling system must reduce the chip temperature by ten degree Celsiuses in comparison with the standard cooler. The memory frequency was not noted, but it is easy to calculate it according to the reference about the capacity, equal to 57,6 GB/s. In this case the memory frequency will correspond to 1800 MHz DDR. Note powerColor propose also the video card radeon HD 4870 with 1 GB GDDR5 memory . | ||
