Associates procured information about the motherboard asus rampage extreme on base of X48 chipset, which ASUS company prepares for announcement . In this case the company engineers could overclock the Core 2 Duo e8400 (3.0 GHz) stepping C0 under liquid nitrogen to 704 MHz on the system bus using two core enabled , and up to 710 MHz with one working core .
Note that the CPU- Z database has the maximum bus frequency with two core equal to 701 MHz. On the same motherboard using the single-channel memory , it was possible to overclock the DDR3-1066 from micron production to DDR3-2516. Series motherboards will appear at the beginning of August.
