If the geForce 9800 GTX+ began to use the 55 nm g92 chip categorically, then with the GeForce 9800 GT ia supplied now on base of both ( 65 nm version and on the more contemporary 55 nm version ). Let us recall that hybridPower technology support is not the indicator of 55 nm chip presence , since it is realized at the printed-circuit board level with the aid of special microcircuit.
Associate compared in tests two video card geForce 9800 GT, based on 65 nm and 55 nm version g92 chip . The g92b chip produced on 55 nm technology has the marking form G92-280-B1 (first photo), crystal area is less (15.9 X 16.4 mm). On the second photograph we have the 65 nm version g92 chip with the marking G92-270-A2, its core area is equal to 17.5 X 18.0 mm.

If we speak about the test results , then the video card on base of 55 nm chip consumes less electric power, but savings is not so noticeble. The temperature conditions of 55 nm chip is more favorable - difference with 65 nm version can reache13 degree Celsiuss.

Note that the 55 nm chip version is slower than the 65 nm predecessor in tests .But Hardly this difference is critica.
