The deliveries Of radeon HD 4550 will begin at the end of this month, but associate already revealed some documents, which allow to understand the RV710 architecture . The quantity of transistors ( in GPU ) is equal to 242 mln which less than 514 mln. in RV 730. This is connected with a smaller quantity of shader blocks : 80 in HD 4550 in comparison with 320 in HD 4650.  The video accelerator ATI radeon HD 4550 will be supplied in two versions: with 512 and 256 MB memory. Reference models of both version are ready. Clock frequencies is identical and it is equal to 600 and 800 MHz (core and memory).  In fact, RV710 is the reduced RV730 version, which have two SIMD , each has one textural block. In each block are located four TAU (Texture address unit) and four TFU (Texture filter unit). The bus width is reduced to 64 bits.  The price Of radeon HD 4550 with 512 MB will lie within the limits $49-59, the 256- MB version will cost $39-49. The main competitor to RV710 will become the NVIDIA 9400GT. Related Products : | ||
