AMD will release one addional product on base of RV770 chip called radeon HD 4830, which will preserve the 256- bit memory bus, but it will obtain a smaller quantity of standardized stream processors. It was considered that similar product under the code name RV770LE will have 192- bit memory bus . Obviously, AMD decided to remove some stream processors and to preserve the 256- bit memory bus .
Associateconfirms the intentions of AMD partners to release during October the video card radeon HD 4830, which also can be mentioned under the code name RV770LE. The quantity of stream processors will be reduced from 800 to 480 pieces, by 40%. AMD Partners can independently assign the frequencies Of radeon HD 4830, all videocard will be equipped with 512 mb GDDR-3 memory. If we considers that the price Of radeon HD 4830 must compete with the GeForce 9800 GT and GeForce 9600 GT, then the recommanded cost of new AMD card for sure will be arranged in the segment higher than $100. | ||
