Without having a straight answer to Intel atom, AMD company does not intend to reject the mastery of small systems with lowered energy consumption, including UMPC and nettop. The suitable chipset with the integrated graphic core will be coupled with the single or dual core processor for built in systems .
AMD Processors for built in systems will have a reduced size, and the chipset AMD 780E ( made from 780G ) has the lowered energy consumption and heat emission. The chipset is connected to the processor with hyperTransport 3.0 bus (capacity up to 5,6 GT/s) and it is equipped with built-in GPU ATI radeon HD 3300 with AMD sideport support , which allow to use system memory DDR3 as video memory. The connection to display units is entrusted by : VGA, LVDS, DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort. For connection with the south bridge AMD sB7x0 serves the interface A -Link 2.0 (PCI-Express 2.0 x4). The connection of discrete graphical solutions is provided. One card can be connected to PCI- E 2.0 x16 bus; for 2 video card it is possible to use the regime 2 x8.
AMD plan to propose UMPC, nettop or other built-in platforms with larger functionality and lower price. In AMD opinion , producer should not sacrifice the base possibilities and PC characteristic in order to decrease the platform  energy consumption . Related Products :
