Rumors about the green version GeForce 9600 GT already disturbs the community. The basic difference between the GeForce 9600 GT green edition and the usual GeForce 9600 GT is the energy consumption reduced from 95 W to 59 W.
Associate reported today detail about the technical characteristics of this product:

GeForce 9600 GT green edition will use the g94-350 chip revision B1, produced on 55 NM technological process and special printed-circuit boards p562. Reduction in the energy consumption affected the video card characteristics. The core and shader domain frequencies will be reduced from 650/1625 MHz in the GeForce 9600 GT to 600/1500 MHz in the GeForce 9600 GT green edition, which composes 8,3%. The voltage is reduced from 1.1 v to 1.0 v. The memory frequency did not change, and it will be 1800 MHz DDR. The memory bus also remained as before : 256 bits.

The printed-circuit board Of the GeForce 9600 GT green edition has 8 slots and noticeably differs from the GeForce 9600 GT. The arrangement of two memory chips is different. Power-supply system preserved the 2+1 phase, it appears now considerably simpler and does not have the additional six-pin power connector . The 75 watts, ensured by the standard PCI express, is now sufficient for the complete satisfaction of video card needs .

The new card will be equipped with two DVI and traditional MIO for SLI organization . The cost Of GeForce 9600 GT green edition will compose, supposedly, $80.
