We already reported about the new video card GeForce GTS 250 . The graphic processor used in this card is the G92 , in this case the GeForce 9800 GTX+ was simply renamed in a GeForce GTS 250, after simplifying the printed-circuit board and lowering the price.

Video card on base Of G92, are characterized by 1Gb video memory, but even a year ago some producers independently released a similar version . In essence, the GeForce GTS 250 is something average between the GeForce 8800 GTS 512 and GeForce 9800 GTX+. From the first video card it borrowed the shortened printed-circuit board, energy consumption not more than 150 watts, one six-pin additional power connector and the cooling system. In this case it was possible to preserve all the GeForce 9800 GTX+ strong side : the high core and memory frequencies, and also the support of 3- way SLI. .Here is the recommended price of this video card :

GeForce GTS 250, 512 MB. $129;
GeForce GTS 250, 1024 MB. $149;
GeForce GTS 250, 2048 MB. $169.

Note, that the average model is positioned in the same price niche, as the faster Radeon HD 4870. In NVIDIA opinion , in high resolutions, the additional video memory volume will allow to exceed competitive decisions from AMD .

Numerous tests confirmed the NVIDIA opinion, but only from one side . Actually, in some applications, with high resolution , the superiority of the 2Gb GeForce GTS 250 version begins to be manifested more and more. However, as a rule, there is an urgent need for ultra fast GPU in order to make the frame rate comfortable @ high resolution . Even being twice faster than the HD 4850(512MB) @ the 2560x1600 resolution the Geforce GTS 250 has only 13 frame ??? .
