As it was promised, AMD company presented the new Radeon HD video card : the fastest card in the category up to $260.
Like ATI Radeon HD 4850 and HD 4870 GPU, this card is prepared according to the 55 nm standards and includes 800 stream processors, the total transistors quantity is nearer to billion ( to be precise, it is equal to 959 million).  The performance of ATI Radeon HD 4890 composes 1,36 TFLOPs, and the memory capacity is 124,8 GB/s. The card includes 1 GB GDDR5 memory, working at 975 MHz frequency, which is connected to the 256- bit bus . The graphic processor clock frequency in the reference model is equal to 850 MHz, which is substantially higher than 750 MHz in the previous model ATI Radeon HD 4870. Moreover, AMD in its presentation talk about possible overclock up to 1 GHz or even above.  This card requires 190 W power (in the regime of idle time it is lowered to 60 W). This card is positioned between the models ATI Radeon HD 4870 with 1 GB memory and ATI Radeon HD 4870 x2, and in the NVIDIA assortment : between GeForce GTX 260 and GTX 285.
