At the end of May Intel will share new details about its 8 core processor nehalem-EX, which will find use in the server segment in the beginning of following year. The production of these processors will start in the present year, but on the server market they will appear only in the beginning of the following year. Intel company describes about nehalem-EX processors regularly . Yesterday official press releases on Intel sites reported that Intel and IBM demonstrated a working system on base of 64 processors nehalem-EX, capable of processing up to 128 threads simultaneously due to the hyper-Threading technology. Each processor nehalem-EX contains eight cores, released on the monolithic crystal with the number of transistors 2,3 billion pieces. Processor supports four channels QPI bus, it has 24 MB divided cache and built-in memory controllers . To one processor socket now can be installed up to 16 memory slots . The four-channel memory organization is used. The popularity of first processors xeon with nehalem architecture proved to be high in the  two-processor segment , up to August this year they will occupy more than 50% all supplied by Intel company processors. Here is another Intel Processor that will put to shame any Opteron in most of, if not ALL of the benchmarks! Well, you have to give credit to the company and its achievements... AMD get back on track and produce something that will compete with them... Seems like you have fallen of the band wagon and have the hardest time of trying to catch up and get back on it... AMD is more that a year behind Intel when it comes to this aspect of the business.
