Associate reports that bloomfield processors will be developed also in the fourth quarter this year , as change to the processor core i 7-950 (3.06 GHz) will arrive the processor core i 7-960 (3.2 GHz). It will be entered in the existing TDP 130 W, it supports triple-channel DDR 3-1066 memory, it is equipped with 8 mb cache in the third level. The QPI bus frequency will be limited to 4,8 Ghz/s, that is somehow lower than in core i 7-965 Extreme edition, which worked at identical clock frequency (3.2 GHz), but with faster QPI 6,4 Ghz/s.
Possibly, the processor core i 7-960 will be proposed as replacement to core i 7-950 for more adequate positioning relative to lynnfield processor with 2.93 GHz frequency. | ||
