Continuing the theme about the new video card from AMD we will talk about the required power . So the graphic adapter radeon HD 5870 will require 188 watts with the peak load in the 3d- regime at the regular frequencies, and in the simple (2d) this value must compose only 27 watts. In the case of two gigas-byte GDDR5 memory, this value can grow.  The cheaper model radeon HD 5850 must consume 170 and 27 watts in analogous regimes. I will recall that the elder card Cypress on base of RV870 has 1600 stream processors and 80 textural blocks, while low-end version is equipped with a smaller quantity : 1440 and 72 respectively. The maximum core consumption for both versions is 110 watts. For comparison, AMD radeon HD 4890, Radeon HD 4870 and Radeon HD 4850, consume 190, 157 and 110 watts respectively.
