Intel company factories began the mass production of processors, made according to the 32-nm technical process standards. With the production of those chip Intel adapts the second generation technology , based on the use of dielectrics from high dielectric constant and metallic locks (high- k/metal-gate, HKMG). For the first time, the 32 nm processor models were shown by Intel company in the beginning of this year.
The first products, based on the new chips westmere, will become the dual core processors core i5 series 600, Core i5 series 500 and Pentium LGA 1156. Components for desktop PC will be called Clarkdale, while the component for notebook : arrandale. They will consist on two core, built-in controller DDR3 and graphic processor with directX 10 support .
It is expected that the first products arrandale will appear on sale already in the fourth quarter this year, while clarkdale processors will be presented in the first quarter 2010.
