Halo, Half-Life vets chomp on new studio
Independent shop Giant Bite founded in Seattle by former Bungie, Valve, Microsoft Game Studios developers.
It's becoming more and more common to see familiar faces in the gaming industry popping up in new places. The latest is Giant Bite, which just officially announced its existence. The independent studio is based in Seattle, Washington, and features a few names that have been associated with some of gaming's hottest properties.
A handful of industry vets share the role of Giant Bites' founders. Hamilton Chu, formerly an executive producer at Bungie Studios, was part of the team that worked on Halo and Halo 2. He also previously worked at Electronic Arts and Red Storm Entertainment.
Also a former Bungie employee, Michael Evans served as lead engineer at the house that Master Chief built. Evans also worked with Rare on Perfect Dark Zero.
Andy Glaister joined Microsoft Game Studios in 1999 and later became the company's director of development for both the Xbox and Xbox 360. Glaister's last two years at Microsoft were spent as development manager for the Windows graphics and gaming team.
Rounding out the heads of Giant Bite is former Valve employee Steve Theodore, who brings his animation experience to the team, having worked on Half-Life and Counter-Strike and having served as technical art manager at Zipper Interactive.
Giant Bite has not yet announced its first project. For more information, head over to the company's official web site - www.giantbite.com/
