AMD sells Alchemy
CHIP FIRM AMD has flogged off its Alchemy processor family to Raza Microelectronics, according to Dow Jones.
The move was not entirely unexpected.
The firm said that means AMD will become an investor in Raza Microelectronics, and didn't say how much it had sold it for. Or what the stake in Raza is.
But the long toothed will remember that Raza was formed by Atiq Raza who used to work for Nexgen, which AMD acquired some years back. Raza also worked for Intel in the past.
Raza Microelectronics will help AMD develop Torrenza, unveiled t'other week.
Small world this chip business, isn't it?
