This card is On the basis of two chips Radeon X1600 XT . Division of throughput PCI Express x16 bus between chips using special bridge PLX PEX8532 .

So, bridge PLX PEX8532 supports operating modes up to PCI Express x32, allowing to divide the bus between graphic chips, maximal power requirement does not exceed 7.38 w. Last characteristic allows to be content with a passive radiator or even without it the card should work :-). Company HIS has created videocard X1600 Gemini for   testing purposes of this technology, serial products will be equipped with chips RV560 or RV570. Apparently, bridge PLX PEX8532 thus from the board will not disappear, though CrossFire support will be incorporated at hardware level in chips RV560/RV570.

As we have already explained, bridge PLX PEX8532 is necessary for division of the PCI Express x16 bus between two chips. It allows to realize CrossFire support by means of such "tandem" in those motherbaords which are equipped with only one PCI Express x16 slot. such videocard reminds GeForce 7950 GX2 from nVidia.

Basically, such two videocards are possible to use one motherboard, if u are possessing two PCI Express x16 slot . Semblance Quad CrossFire will turn out.

The most interesting fast to mention in for the physical calculations  performance   and 3d acceleration they schedules simultaneously. One of chips will be engaged graphic, another - in physics.

The announcement of 0.08 microns chips RV560 and RV570 should take place in August or September. As we managed to find out, chip RV560 will have only 8 piprline conveyors whereas RV570 will receive 12 pipeline and the 256-bit memory bus.
