persistently refuse to pass into 3d regime. First we checked
the work of service, which corresponds for the frequencies control and
stresses (“ATI hot key poller”) but it was
innocent. It was necessary to search for another solution, and we find out
that the problems are in the regular bios. After flashing with other radeon x1900 GT bios, the 3d
requencies regime start to work normally .
To test for stability using the new bios we used the HDR- test
deep freeze from the composition of 3d Mark 06, and repeted it 15 times.
As a result maximum temperature registered was in the level of ~88 of degree Celsiuss, and from the 3400 r/min region
we transfer through barrier into 88 degrees, the rotation speed
passe to ~ 4300 r/min . In 3d operating mode, the graphic processor frequency automatically
rises to 575 MHz, and voltage - from 1,2 to 1,25 volts.
Unfortunately, cooling system proved to be very noisy. If the
sound, published by fan on 3400 r/min, still can be borne, then on 4300 r/min it
becomes serious stimulus.For overclocking we used the utility rivaTuner version 2.0 RC 16. to check
the frequencies stability was used Deep freeze from the test
3d Mark 06, which was repeated 15 times eath check.
With overclocking everything was sufficiently predicted: the
simplified board design , ineffective cooling, reduced voltage (relative to X1900
XT/ XTX) do not make possible to hope for good result. On this copy it
was possible to attain stable work at the frequency of 615 MHz, increase was by 40
MHz – this only 7% from the default. Raising vcore using the utility
overclocker-x1k in to 1,45 volts (level radeon x1900 XTX), we obtained
the same result.
Honestly speaking,with the cuurent deficiencies in the design, we
expected to obtain at least the frequency, at which works Radeon x1900 XT/
XTX (650 MHz). Apparently, are shown the power limitations (we already explained the overclocking frequency Of radeon x1900 XT/ XTX, increase
in the stress on the power circuits GPU it has no effect because of the work temperature
witch is close to the maximum). Possibly, after the replacement of cooling by
more effective one, it will be possible to attain the better result , but we
do not have possibility to verify this at the moment. Let us simply note
that the installation of fan with 100% regime did
not make possible to raise the frequency above 615 MHz.
Now let us passe for the memory : the chips Of samsung 1,4 ns took
a step beyond the limits of their default possibilities, after being clocked at the frequency of 837 (1674) MHz and after passing Radeon x1900 XTX with the
memory samsung 1,1 ns, witch work with frequency of 810 (1620) MHz.. The
increase in the the memory voltage do not influenced the overclocking capability. Here
it should be noted that timing of the memory x1900 GT are most likely
less aggressive than in X1900 XTX, which, probably, has a effect on frequency
potential.
Temperature conditions practically in this case did not change – the maximum temperature of processor was located in the region of 88 degree
Celsiuss, the general temperature of the card also remained as before - 55 degrees.
However, temperature on the chip became more constant and the fan rotation work stable at 4300 r/min.
The 2d quality was pretty good.
Unlocking graphic processors pipeline 1900gt
We all remenber the good time where most user where able to unlock their 9500 card into 9700 .witch was high en class card tose day.
Alas, chances to open pipeline in Radeon x1900 GT is very
small. ATI rolled well their 100-percent blocking even on the chips R4XX, yes
even Radeon x1800 GTO, which we tested earlier, could not be unlcoked.
However, to verify stands.
Bios from Radeon x1900 XT/ XTX for the
transformation cannot be used - the different memory capacity ,
different memory chips , difference in timing. After flashing you will
most likely see nothing :-) except continuous artefacts; therefore it is necessary
to modify the native bios.
For the beginning ASIC config was used in
correspondence with bios Of radeon x1900 XTX. In the
hex- code on the displacement bytes of 0x7A: in X1900 XTX it is equal
0x49, while in X1900 GT to – 0x 4b.

driver was installed, but the number of pipeline did not
change.
Further, with the comparison in the hex- editor of different bios from X1900 GT and X1900 XT/ XTX, was
found byte from the displacement of 0x7C: in all Radeon x1900 XT/ XTX it is
equal to 0x18, while in X1900 GT to – of 0x19.

With the comparison Of bios from x1800 XT and
X1800 GTO was noted the analogous situation. Unfortunately, the change of this
byte in default Of x1900 GT to 18 did not lead to any
results.
But, after turning to conference with techPowerUp, we understood that they were on the right way.
One of the participants in this conference was modified the bios on the same principle. But it was explained that for the
successful unlock it will be necessary not only the correctly modified bios, but also the map with “correct” chip. “Correct
video card” are produced on the chip r580 PRO, and rest - in R580 LE/XL
with the hardware block. To us fell precisely the chip r580 LE/XL.
Obviously in order to accelerate the release Of
