This always something extraordinary. And Leadtek precisely calls its accelerators series, which work at the high frequencies. We will today we will review two video card from this company, which do not relate to the most rapid class, but at the same time they relate to most popular group from the Middle- segment. These are GeForce 7900 GS and 7950GT. The first differ from the second in terms of pipeline and frequency . in the first some are blocked (in more detail it is possible to see the specifications of cards below). leadtek company decided to reduce the cost of 7950GT, after equipping it with only 256- megas-byte  memory, when as all regular such card is proposed with complete 512- megas-byte. But  user could not feel a large impact in the perfomance since the frequencies of card was raised from regular 550/1400 to 600/1430 MHz. Thus, in games, where the greatest requirements are imposed by shader calculations, this card will demonstrate higher performance, despite the smaller memory volume . As far as 7900GS are concerned, the version from leadtek is also overclocked (520/1400 MHz against regular 450/1320 MHz). Both video card although relate already to the previous family g71, but not to G80; however, on the market for present games they both ensure practically all contemporary functions. The only function witch is not available is the operation HDR+AA . Memory used Video Cards has 256 MB memory GDDR3 SDRAM, placed in the front side PCB. Memory Microcircuits are from hynix (GDDR3). Access time in the memory microcircuits is 1.4ns, which corresponds to the frequency of 700 (1400) MHz. Results of tests: performance comparison 7950gt vs 7900gs We used those benchmark : Splinter cell chaos theory v.1.04 (Ubisoft) — directX 9.0, shaders 3.0 (with HDR and without HDR),  test Setting = maximum. Call Of juarez (Techland/ubisoft) — directX 9.0, shaders 3.0 (HDR), demo (demo test was with the maximum quality.) FarCry 1.4 (beta) (Crytek/UbiSoft), DirectX 9.0, shaders 2.0b/3.0 (with HDR and without HDR), demo from level research (start the game with option - DEVMODE), Setting to Very high. During the test was used HDRRendering=1 PREY 1.01 (3d Realms entertainment/Human head studios/2K Games) — openGL, shaders 2.x, demo003 (40MB!). Test was with the maximum quality. 3DMark05 1.20 (FutureMark) — directX 9.0  Serious sam II 1.068 (Croteam/2K Games) — directX 9.0, shaders 3.0 (with HDR and without HDR), demo used. Demo- standard demo0002 graphic setting to the maximum. F.E.A.R. v.1.08 (Multiplayer) (Monolith/sierra) — directX 9.0, shaders 2.0, graphic setting to maximum, Soft shadows OFF. Good delivery set with contemporary game . I repeat, that if the card price will be lower than RADEON x1950 PRO. it is possible to say that this is a a good selection, Leadtek winFast PX7950GT TDH extreme (GeForce 7950 GT) 256MB PCI- E - This card is completely original. The question here : what is better - high frequencies and small memory volume or large memory and low clock frequency? I assume that for overclocker it is better to go with more memory, the frequency can be raised. But for simple user this became a bit difficult .For the same price u will obtain card on the level Of x1900 XT.
