Kingston company reported about development of multiflow memory module prototype : DDR- 3. The new technology increase by 50% the capacity and lower the energy consumption by 20% .
Multiflow DDR- 3 modules use the existing infrastructure and base component. Several memory modules within the technology are divided in channels set , which divide the general port of commands/addresses. Such modules are capable of using 64-bit data transmission , occupying all the memory bus. The memory microcircuits during this organization are two times thinner than usually, which allow to decrease the energy consumption of entire module by 20%.
