The Japanese company Elpida succeeded in creating the first in the world DDR2 chip, which has the highest density among analogous chip, intended for mobile devices.
This chip is built according to the 50 nm technology, it works with 1,2 v and ensures the data transmission speed of 800 Mbit/s. It is oriented for use in the cell phones and smart phone upper segment, and also in netbook and MID (Mobile internet devices).
According to the producer, the mass production of the new memory chips will start in first half 2010. Memory will be supplied, for the use in single-hull systems (SiP), the case, which unites several crystals in one case (MCP), and also in the case type package-on-package (PoP).
