On the past IDF fall 2009 Intel company demonstrated the technology light peak, which allow to transfer information by optical cable with the speed of from 10 Gbit/s to 100 Gbit/s. New interface allow to replace all existing ports on the rear computer panel to only port and to get rid from cables .
The American company ensphere solutions last week reported that it was ready to begin the deliveries of ESI-XVR10100 transceiver, which allow to convert electrical signals in optical and back. Each controller light peak supports two ports, transmitting information with 10 Gbit/s speed in both directions simultaneously. Intel and Ensphere hope to propose to the clients component for the realization of light peak support in 2010. ESI-XVR10100 Chip will be released on 65 nm technology. According to some data, Intel tightly works with USB-IF in order to assure the compatibility of interfaces USB and Light peak. In other words, this new generation interface has all chances to the fast introduction. Related Products :
