Situation with the introduction of SATA-600 support remains contradictory. From one side, motherboard producers actively equip their products with the appropriate controllers, chipset developers do not hurry to integrate the appropriate functionality in their articles. From other sides, the enumeration of product with SATA-600 support is extremely small. Seagate proposes classical HDD with this interface, which does not demonstrate a special difference in the speed in comparison with its predecessors.  SSD Producers also equip their products with SATA-600 controllers, but there is not special speed up  advantage . Marvell company  intends to break in two situation due to the release of  the SATA-600 controller for the solid-state disk - this chip will be placed directly on the disk , bringing the information transmission speed on the SATA-600 interface closer to the theoretical maximum. On the early SSD prototype , which supports only data reading , it was possible to attain acceleration to 27-33% in comparison with one of most rapid SSD with SATA-300 interface from Intel production  . Certainly, the bottleneck in the SSD speed  is writing speed, but the existing prototype with the new Marvell controller does not allow to test this parameter. Marvell company will not release  SSD, it is ready to supply the producers of the latter with its controllers with SATA-600 support. Related Products :
