In the past month Intel representatives acknowledged that to the middle of 2010 the company will release the new SSD series X25- E on base of SLC memory , which will be 40% cheaper than existing models, and the capacity of elder will be increased from 64 to 200 Gb. Micron company promised in the following year to master the release of 34 nm SLC memory , which will increase capacity and reduce SSD cost . The only problem - is the higher cost and the smaller storage capacity of SLC type in comparison with MLC memory .
In the fourth quarter 2010 Intel company will release new SSD series X25- E under the code name lyndonville. It is reported that instead of present 40 nm SLC memory these SSD will use 34 nm MLC memory . Thus it will be possible to substantially increase the SSD volumes of series X25- E, intended for corporate market segment . Elder model will have the volume 400 Gb, two others - 200 Gb and 100 Gb respectively. Obviously, Intel changes priorities in the formation of proposals for corporate users in favor of an increase in capacitance and price reduction . We hope that 34 nm memory MLC will ensure worthy speed. Related Products :
