According to associate  qualcomm company together with Taiwan semiconductor manufacturing Co. Ltd. (TSMC) works at the mastery of 28-nm technology. The release of first 28-nm models is planned to the middle of 2010. Qualcomm and TSMC have an experience of similar collaboration. Those companies together mastered the technical processes, based on the use of standards 65 and 45 nm. Now the object of collaboration became the development of 28-nm technical process version , optimized on the criterion of energy consumption and designed for the mass production . The specialists Of qualcomm and TSMC develop the technical process 28HP, which is characterized by the use of dielectrics with the high value of dielectric constant and metallic locks (high- k metal gate, HKMG).
