David Kim, the leading gameplay designer StarCraft II, announced that he was leaving the StarCraft II development team and moving to a new position in a new Blizzard project. Mr. Kim did not explain what kind of project it is, and what exactly is its role in its development. Fans would like to believe that the mysterious new project is WarCraft IV or StarCraft III.
On the fate of the game, the departure of David Kim should not be affected. Developers will continue to support the game, release updates and listen to the wishes of the players.
Judging by the comments of fans of StarCraft II under the note of David Kim, they are very happy that he left the game. StarCraft II has evolved from an adored strategy to an exclusively cybersport discipline that values speed, response, and micromanagement at the "God" level. With the release of the Legacy of the Void add-on, the game was finally distanced from the casual audience and got a balance change aimed at entertainment: the matches became swift, the fights were furious and fast.
It is generally accepted that the balance between the races in StarCraft II is present. But this is only a superficial glance. Just ask yourself: if the balance were present, would the game have been continuously updated for seven years, correcting it?
