In 2010 Intel plans to release new generation solid-state disk (SSD), prepared on the more advanced technological process. Today SSD's are released according to the 34 nm standards. Passage to the new technical process will allow the company to produce cheaper and more capacious chip NAND memory.
Supports of solid-state disk to SATA 6 Gbit/s interface is worth expecting not earlier than 2011. To this period, the company plans to finish the development of a chipset, which may rationally use advantages of new interface specification and its high capacity.
The absence of a rapid interface will limit the speed of new solid-state disk to 300 MB/s. Related Products :
