Seagate company released the first hard disk with SATA-600 interface. The first tests showed that the passage to the use of SATA-600 for classical HDD did not bring any noticeable improvements.
Recently appeared on sale the HDD WD1002FAEX, which combines SATA-600 interface and 1 Tb volume. In the tests, the HDD was connected both to the regular ports serial ATA from the south bridge ICH10R and to the discrete controllers Marvell models 9128 and 9123.
